Debbie Wasserman Schultz and The Daily Show

Last night, Debbie Wasserman Schultz was the guest on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. And while the show failed to address our campaign or her support for stripping regulations on predatory payday lenders, they did ask our opponent about her attempts to block insurgent progressives — like Bernie Sanders — from winning elections.

Here was Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s response to Noah’s question:

“You know, as powerful as that makes me feel, I’m not doing a very good job of rigging the outcome or… blocking anyone from being able to get their message out.”

But that’s just not true — our opponent has actually done a great job making it more and more difficult for progressive Democrats to get elected throughout the country. How else do you explain the historic loses our party has seen in multiple elections under her failed leadership?

We need change and we need it now — both for the Democratic Party and for the voters of this district. Make a contribution of $3, or whatever you can afford today, to help our campaign defeat Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Let’s be clear about something: It is no accident that Debbie Wasserman Schultz’ reign at the DNC has been followed by historic loses on the state, federal, and local levels for Democrats. It’s simply not a coincidence that the presidential debates were buried during primetime professional and collegiate football games. Heck, the DNC tried to schedule another debate during last night’s NCAA Championship!

The system has been rigged against grassroots progressives and in Washington against working Americans. Maybe Debbie Wasserman Schultz wasn’t the one who started it, but she has become an important benefactor and defender of our broken political and economic systems. And her defeat in this election will be a real win for the progressive movement and for all those who are hungry for real change in this country.

Your contribution of $3 today can help strike a blow against our rigged political and economic systems. Your support will help us defeat Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

America has strayed too far away from its founding democratic principle of fairness — but we can take a powerful step toward finding our way back when we win this race.

In solidarity,
