The Electoral College has only gone against the popular vote twice since 1888 — with Al Gore, and Hillary Clinton. That trend promises to continue against Democrats. Of course Republicans aren’t complaining. Why would they?
Also, states MUST comply with individual protections provided by the U.S. Constitution.
Finally, Bush v. Gore was resolved BEFORE the electors even voted. So the voters didn’t have time to get “tired” of the court proceedings. As a Gore voter, I sure as heck didn’t.
