A well written STORIES review by https://twitter.com/AVMusicNorway

1. Waiting for love

“Stories” opens up with “Waiting For
Love”. The track has a more “levels” Avicii kind of vibe with a touch of Martin Garrix. Singer Simon Aldred of Cherry Ghost shines all the way through the track with
his vocals and extremely catchy lyrics. It serves as a great albumopener and sets the mood for what’s about to come.

2. Talk to myself

The second track on the album “Talk
ToMyself” takes a more tropical twist. What makes the track great for me is the super great vocals done by singer Sterling Fox, and Avicii’s fantastic production. As
the track progresses more and more strings build on top of each other and it’s a nice a touch as the pluck heavy drop finally hits.

3. Touch me

This track is heavily Daft Punk
influenced. The track on its own is very generic, yet groovy and has a nice beat. Singer Celeste Waite does a good job adding to the groove, but the lyrics do
not ultimately have any specific message and the melody in the drop really reminds me of Syn Cole’s “Miami 82.”

4. Ten more days

Once the track opened with that
soft acoustic guitar, I immediately knew this would be one of my favorites from the album. The track is very haunting , yet catchy, with a final break that will make
you loose your mind. Zak Abel did a great performance on the vocals, telling the story of when Avicii had to take abreak from touring due to health issues last year.

5. For a better day

This track is co-written by singer Alex
Ebertand is a very generic piano based track. It’s catchy and delivers a good message, but ultimately falls flat and
is in my opinion one of the weakest songs on the album. It’s not bad, but not memorable either.

6. Broken arrows

Featuring Zac Brown from Zac Brown
Band, this was one of the more anticipated tracks from the album. The song combines folk and country influenced with a typical structure in an electronic atmosphere. Running at 116bpm, the track
delivers with Zac Brown’s heavy vocalsand the carnival based melodic drop.

7. True believer

Oh no he didn’t! This is the track
whereAvicii dared to lend his own vocals along with Coldplay singer Chris Martin in the chorus. The first minute will definitely please older Avicii fans, with it’s
highly energetic and bass filled intro leading into the first verse. The melody of the track is super catchy, and
while the lyrics aren’t particularly special, this is one of those tracks that will make you want to put everything away and dance! The piano outro at the end
of the track is also some of the most beautiful things I’ve heard in a long time.

8. CITY lights

“I Could Be The One” and “X You”
singers Noonie Bao and Jonas Wallin team up with Avicii once again to bring us the ultimate party track we’ve been waiting for, and it works! The charming vocals and
beautiful piano melodies makes this a song a joy to listen to, and once the first and second drops hit you will totally lose your mind. My only complaint about the song is the
painful snare Avicii used in the build up to the second drop of the track. Take a listen and you’ll understand what I mean.

9. Pure grinding

Moving into a more jazz and hip-
hop inspired style, Avicii totally nails it with Eric St. Clair’s vocals telling usa story of the people who “Grind” for money, and of the people who work hard to get it.
This is one of the better tracks of the album, Diplo better step back.

10. Sunset Jesus

The lyrics on this track are based on
Kevin Lee Light, a homeless residing on Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, who impersonates Jesus for a living. Avicii re-uses the Dear Boy (Avicii
by Avicii) melody, brings in singer Sandro Cavazza and makes us one hell of a track. The lyrics on this is some of
the best on the entire album, and despite the re-use of melody, this manages to be one of the most catchy tracks
on the entire album and will have you hooked for weeks.

11. Can’t catch me

Avicii moves on to the Reggae genre
with Matisyahu and Wyclef Jean on the vocals. A highly controversial track on its own, but Avicii manages to pull it off with the swift acoustic guitar and the beautiful
piano influenced melodies after both of the verses.

12. Somewhere in Stockholm

A track based on Avicii’s
hometown Stockholm, featuring singer Daniel Adams-Ray. The song is very orchestra influenced, but as always
Avicii manages to pull it off with the amazing lyrics and beautiful percussions.

13. Trouble

Following Wake Me Up, Hey Brother
and The Nights, Avicii re-visits the “Countryhouse” genre one last time with singer Wayne Hector. The track on its
own is quite good, with inspirational lyrics and catchy drop. You’d expect nothing less from Avicii.

14. Gonna love ya

Damn, Avicii is really pulling off
this tropical vibe and I’m absolutely loving it! Although the bpm is super slow, the well written lyrics provided by Sandro Cavazza, make this track a joy to listen to. The
drop comes as a surprise as it’s a style Avicii has never done before, but oh boy does he nail it.
