Miami Dolphins Week 5 Grade And Review: Where do they go from here?
Oh boy…
Dolphins fans came into this season with high hopes, and reasonably so. Their team went 10–6 despite playing the most rookies in the NFL. All that talent was expected to improve and grow even stronger, and the Dolphins carried expectations to at least be competitive in the AFC playoff race.
5 games in, those high hopes are all but gone.
After another double-digit loss, it’s clear the situation in Miami is dire. There are clear problems on both sides of football that need to be addressed. Coach Brian Flores claims the problem is with player execution, but at a certain point there need to be questions raised in the front office about those calling the plays. There are just fundamentally too many problems with this team.
Let’s start with the defense, who were yet AGAIN torched through the air. This time to the tune of 5 TDs and 411 yards from Tom Brady. The Dolphins continued to blitz at an exceptionally high rate, and as a result, there were holes through the secondary that were continuously exploited. All three starting CBs were torched for big plays, as the Dolphins continue to expand on their lead in most big-time plays given up in the NFL. The defense playcalling isn’t lending the players any favors though. Boyer continues to drop safety…
