When Does an Artificial Intelligence Become a Person?

Once it becomes impossible to tell the difference between a computer and a living being, from a behavioral perspective, then the ethical questions of how to treat it should be exactly the same as if it were a living being. Since we cannot say what a consciousness is or how it arises, then we cannot say for sure that the computer has not become conscious also.
Turing, when asked “but how can we know if a machine is really thinking” replied “How can I know that YOU are really thinking?”
