The Kodaira city area, just west of Tokyo, is well situated for those wishing to explore the western part of Tokyo and all its attractions. In the Kodaira area itself, the Kodaira Furusatovillage makes for an interesting day out, as does the Fuchu no Mori Museum in nearby Fuchu. For those who love a bit of green space in which to take in the flora and fauna of an area, Kodaira is a great base. The nearby Bonsai Art Museum in Omiya is a great place for those wishing to see some beautiful bonsai trees in many different shapes and sizes, and in Ageo the Maruyama Park is a favorite place amongst locals. Kodaira is also not far from Shinagawa — visitors to this part of Tokyo who wish to escape big city life can head to Shinagawa Kumin Park. Flowers are in bloom throughout the year, but the best plants and colors are seen in the spring, including of course cherry and plum trees.
