“My Boss Didn’t Show Up”

DaPenguinNinja — The short answer to your question is absolutely. Her disinterest in me certainly had me looking for alternatives. When she didn’t show up, I wasn’t surprised. I was a small fish in her big sea, and I can’t deal with that.

Maybe that makes me insecure or narcissistic or arrogant. Maybe I am, I don’t know. I don’t think so.

I do know we have the responsibility to improve our own situation — every day. All the time.

My reaction to her indifference really was just that. I didn’t like the way things were going so I looked for improvement.

That’s just my experience. Is looking for work in different departments of your own company a fail-proof plan for happiness? I don’t know. I haven’t done it enough times. It’s worked for me so far, though.

I also want to make the point that I don’t blame her.

Resentment is a great way to bitterness, and bitterness is an excellent route to awful relationships. I forgive her while also being aware I can’t work with her anymore. We are not compatible.

Many people run from things. I hope if you (or anyone who stumbles across this response) are facing a situation similar to mine, you run to something.

Thanks for the chance to expand on this
