Thank you for this. My head is filled with memories of my grandfather now. I always wished he would have shared more “horror” stories about the war, but he always shut up right when they were getting “good”. Perhaps it was for the best. My children are so isolated from true life and death struggles. Their only concept of death is waiting to respawn in Call of Duty. That is a good thing, but its also very privileged. I thank your grandfather for his service.
