Why I’ve decided to apply for the vacant MT School Board seat
Members of the Manhiem Township School Board have lost the community’s trust over the last few months. They have lost my trust too. Government fails when citizens cannot count on it to be transparent. Now, for the sake of our children and our taxpayers, the school board must put education ahead of politics to regain the community’s trust. That’s why I am applying to fill the vacant seat on Manheim Township’s school board.
I served on Manheim Township’s school board for 16 years, including eight years as its Vice President. During that time, I gained a tremendous amount of experience working to give our children the education they deserve. What the board needs now is an experienced and steady hand to guide it forward. After speaking with many of my neighbors, I believe I can bring experience back to the board and help begin the process of reestablishing citizens’ trust in their local government.
To do that, we must put our children ahead of partisan politics. That’s why If I am selected to fill the vacancy, I commit to only serving until the end of this appointment and will not run for a full term. We cannot allow politics to interfere with our children’s education and their futures. As taxpayers and community members, we deserve schools that we can all be proud of.
