I am simply staggered to hear of stories like from the “United States”, that don’t seem so united…

About ten years, I was talking to a young woman taking political science who was railing against socialism. I asked her if she actually knew what it was and she said, “Well, I don’t really know what it is, but I know I don’t like it!”

But socialism has become quite a popular brand these days amongst the young — simply because capitalism is treating them so very badly for the most part.

Perhaps a “rebranding” is needed — call it “group compassion” or something like that. In America I call myself a Social Democrat, which is both somewhat accurate and sounds “somewhat different” to socialist.
