a growing discontent with Apple
The Apple-Google shift

Attempting to be an Apple Developer was the last straw for me. There was a point where I had to join their developer program just to sign my applications — but the conditions that I would be bound by would not be revealed to me until after I paid my $99!

The money was nothing; the bad attitude was everything. Their deliberate attempts to constantly push updates to my development system so it would longer compile for a target system which we knew had plenty of users challenged my backup system, and eventually led to me creating a “decoy” development system that I didn’t use but which Apple would update.

It’s sad because I was a big fan of theirs for years, but I no longer recommend their hardware.
