Press Day at the Tokyo Game Show 2016

Despite being the second press day at the Tokyo Game Show 2016, there was still a mad rush at Kaihin-Makuhari Station to get to the venue. It’s an unnerving precursor to what will follow on Saturday and Sunday when the event opens it’s door to the public.
Nintendo has long since turned its nose up at the Tokyo Game Show, and Microsoft, well, long since given up on getting the XBOX to take off in the Japanese market. So it is that Sony flexes its muscles at the event. In fact, it’s the Sony press conference that really kicks off proceedings for the show. This year the gaming giant is amping up the fever ahead of the October release of their PlayStation VR. At this year’s show then, punters are able to don the VR head gear and give the thing a whirl. In fact, VR maintains a strong presence at the show this year despite concerns that there isn’t going to be the software to ‘flesh it out’ so to speak.
Along side the Sony booth, there seemed to be (well, no, there WAS) a lot of buzz being generated over at the Final Fantasy XV booth and some large queues of visitors wanting to get a taste of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. As predicted also, The Last Guardian and Persona 5 were also drawing in the crowds.
Anyway, here’s a bit of peak at what to expect from the Tokyo Game Show 2016.
