Treason and Trump…is this the long awaited exit strategy of Donald Trump ?
What is treason under the Constitution ?
On the eve of the start of the Democratic convention there was a bombshell release of hundreds of emails of the Democratic Party which clearly showed that the Chairwoman of the DNC was overtly working against the Sanders campaign.
The source of the leak of the aforesaid emails was determined to be Russian hackers.
The emails were the cause of the resignation of Debbie Wassermann Schultz as Chairwoman of the DNC.
Rumors began swirling that the Russians purposely hacked the DNC in an attempt to help Donald Trump.
Today 7/27/2016 Donald Trump held a news conference and publicly requested for Russians who are listening to please find the alleged 30,000 emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server while Secretary of State which were not found.
Essentially, Donald Trump openly asked the Russians to corrupt the computer files of the U. S. Government.
Since the first day Donald Trump entered the 2016 race for President he has continually stuck his foot in his mouth.
It has been nearly 1 year since Trump began his campaign and he has offended opponents, minorities, disabled an the list goes on. We as Americans almost assume Trump will do or say something stupid and have become immune to his antics.
But today’s incredible act of Treason now seen by millions was a new low for Trump. Could he be Prosecuted for his actions ?
Many respected publications are calling for a criminal investigation. It has widely been a contention of many that Donald Trump has ties with the Russians which is one of the reasons that Trump has not released his tax returns.
The U.S. Attorney General could indeed press charges against Trump but that is unlikely because it would be perceived as a political act of retribution.
Exit Strategy ?
From the very beginning of his campaign it was assumed that Trump was only running to prove to the GOP that his money was as good as the Koch brothers who were the power brokers for the GOP.
But as his success continued so did his ego grow. Eventually he became the front runner for the GOP nomination. Trump’s campaign events brought protesters by the thousands. Some events had to be cancelled due to outbreaks of violence.
From the start of his campaign many in the GOP have believed that Trump was secretly acting as an agent of the Clinton campaign to help her chances of being elected President and at the same time hurt the GOP ticket. Both Trump and Clinton deny that claim.
Does Donald Trump really want to be President ?
That question has been a topic of discussion for over a year. I don’t think that many people ever believed that Trump wanted to be President, including Trump.
The office of the President and the many security and daily functions simply conflict with the lifestyle of Donald Trump.
Trump is a businessman, a globe trotter, a TV show host and has world wide ventures.
Donald Trump has had a long career in many and various business capacities but the 1 thing has has never been is a politician. He has no experience in politic or government.
The fact remains that Trump has far succeeded his original goal for entering the race for the GOP nomination. He not only won the GOP nomination he has single handedly damaged he GOP to very near the point of extinction.
The dilemma that now faces Trump is HOW and WHEN he makes his exit from the race while trying to save face and still destroy the GOP.
One thing I have learned about Trump is that he is not the IDIOT that many portray him to be. To be honest I consider Trump to be a genius.
He meticulously planned his campaign from the very start and you have to give him credit. Not only did he win the GOP nomination he did so with ease.
I have from the start of Trumps campaign believed that his ultimate goal was to destroy the GOP as a viable political party. He did.
I believe today’s act of treason was not the act of a political novice. In my opinion Trump purposely set up today’s act of treason as the first step of his EXIT STRATEGY.
You can be sure that Trumps lawyers have researched the election laws to learn what would be the last day for him to withdraw from the race so it would be legally impossible for the GOP leadership too name a replacement nominee.
Many States begin early voting for President 30 days prior to the general election on November 8, 2016.
Taking into account that the ballots must be printed and distributed by the the election authority of each State in time for absentee and early voting.
As far as I can tell the last possible date for Trump to withdraw so that the GOP cannot legally name his replacement is somewhere between October 1st and 15th. In simple terms Trump’s name would remain on the ballot even though he has legally withdrawn from the race and the GOP could not change that even if they name a replacement. Essentially the GOP replacement candidate would be forced to run as a write in candidate. The chances of a write in candidate winning is zero to none.
