Was the breach of Clinton campaign data by Sanders more significant than reported ?

Perhaps the media ignored the issue.

I am beginning to wonder if the Sanders campaign actually got some key information which benefited them in the Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada voting.

When the data breach became public just before last Christmas the DNC immediately suspended the Sanders campaigns access to the DNC computer system.

Sanders cried foul and filed a lawsuit against the DNC which was resolved within days and the Sanders campaign was once again allowed access.

Senator Sanders apologized to Hillary Clinton for an “egregious breach of the rules and promptly fired his director of data operations.

End of story. Maybe not…

What was the breach of data about?

In layman’s term the DNC maintains a data base on voting by region, age, gender , race registration and turnout. The DNC database is accessible to both campaign through the same server.

However each candidate also maintains a separate more significant data base filled with basically the information that is used in planning resources, etc for upcoming primaries and caucuses. It is like the BLUEPRINT of the campaign strategy and plans for implementing the data to suit the candidates needs. It is the life source of the respective campaigns.

The breach occurred because of a glitch in the DNC software which gave the Sanders campaign access to the Clinton database.

How the GLITCH occurred has not been made public but the software was corrected to prevent further unauthorized access.

Within a week after the breach the issue basically became moot in good part due to the Christmas and New Years holidays and the resolution worked out between the campaigns and the DNC.

What has happened since the breach ?

Before the data breach the polling in Iowa and Nevada showed Clinton to have a significant lead over Sanders. In New Hampshire the polling favored Sanders but the race was still competitive.

Clinton won Iowa by a razor thin margin and Sanders beat her in New Hampshire easily and decisively. Yesterday the Nevada caucuses were held and Clinton won with 52 percent of the vote in a race that the Sanders campaign thought they should and could win and prove to skeptics that he is not just a regional candidate with minimal minority support. He lost.

Initially, I thought the data breach to have been harmless. But some troubling incidents are making me wonder if the Sanders campaign parlayed the data they obtained to make the race more competitive than it really is.

The New Hampshire Attorney General is investigating possible registration and voting by Sanders supporters.

A union gathering of Clinton operatives in Nevada was infiltrated by Sanders supporters posing as Clinton supporters.

A Sanders supporter is under investigation by the Secret Service for attempting to place an obituary for Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Las Vegas local newspaper prior to Saturday’s caucuses.

There is now a controversy over the possible actions of Sanders supporters yelling “ English only “ during a Hispanic rally in Nevada prior to yesterday’s caucus.

If it appears that the allegations regarding “ English only” comments is verified to be true the Sanders campaign will undoubtedly disavow the comments as against the beliefs of their candidate but it will not bode well for Sanders support among Hispanics.

Maybe these are just isolated incidents by overzealous Sanders supporters. It could be as Sanders has publicly asked his supporters to be cordial and fair.

Yet there is a pattern developing which makes me wonder.

Consider what the scenario would be if the situation was reversed and it was the Clinton campaign that breached Sanders data or any of the occurrences listed above committed by Clinton operatives.

What would the reaction be ? Is there any doubt.

I think the media and Republicans would be screaming FOWL There would be calls for criminal investigations and again the integrity of Hillary Clinton would become the focus of the media.

The incredible media bias against Hillary Clinton by MSNBSC and CNN is as bad as FOX and there turn the cheek attitude when it come to Sanders makes it apparent they are neither fair or neutral.

Are the RATINGS motivating the media?

Apparently for struggling MSNBC that appears to be the case.

After a hard fought win by Clinton in the Nevada caucuses yesterday MSNBC host Chris Matthews fairly pointed out the fact the Clinton is likely to win all but 1 or 2 of the next 10 primaries/caucuses which will take place in the next two weeks.

She will have a clear advantage in the number of delegates he stated.

Matthews then proceeded to state that the problem with the Clinton campaign is that she has “ no message “and Sanders does.

WHAT ?

A positive Victory for Clinton once again portrayed negatively.

The PLAIN fact is the media is OBSESSED with Trump and Sanders.

LUCKILY IT IS THE VOTERS WHO MAKE THE ULTIMATE DECISION…NOT THE MEDIA.
