Stop Lying to Yourself
What’s the key to success? A few words come to mind: Determination, commitment, hard work, hustle, ingenuity. I don’t know what the key to your success is but I can tell you what it has been for me: Owning up to my failures.
If you would have asked me 10 years ago why this or that didn’t work out I would have give you an answer (or excuse) that never had anything to do with me. The word “I” wouldn’t have came out of my mouth. In my eyes, I did the best I could and everyone and everything else around me failed. It wasn’t until I got laid off for the second time in 3 years that I had stop and wonder “what’s wrong with me?” That’s when I began to look internally for answers and explanations.
Upon looking internally I realized that my current life was a result of my past decisions. Everything I was and where I was at that point in my life was a result of my decision making. That thought sparked a series of honest conversations with myself. I started to ask myself the hard questions and stop lying about the answers. I finally admitted that I was failing because of me. That’s when it all changed.
It was only after that was I able to start a successful business. It was only then that I started realize the success I dreamed about. As soon as I stopped lying to myself I was able to win. Are you tired of lying to yourself? Can you admit that the defeats that you’ve experienced have been at your own behest? If you answered yes to both of those questions then you are ready to embrace success.
