ChatGPT Advanced:

This extension enhances the prompts used by ChatGPT by including relevant web results, resulting in more accurate and current conversations.

You can find this extension at: ChatGPT Advanced Extension

Once installed, log into ChatGPT and you will see a ‘Search the Web” slider and an options menu to configure how many search results you want in what time period. See screenshot below:

You need to play about with it and sometimes you just get a list of search results and no additional info.

I have shown the input and output results with and without ‘Search on the web” enabled:

Question and Answer — “Search on the web” NOT ENABLED:

Q.what is a quantum computer?

A.A quantum computer is a type of computer that uses quantum mechanics to store and process information. Quantum computers are based on the principles of quantum mechanics, a fundamental theory in physics that describes the behavior of matter and energy at the atomic and subatomic level.

Quantum computers use quantum bits, or qubits, to store and process information. Qubits are units of quantum information that can represent both 0 and 1 simultaneously, as well as any linear combination of these states. This property, known as superposition, allows quantum computers to perform certain types of calculations much faster than classical computers.

Quantum computers are still in the early stages of development and are not yet widely available. However, they have the potential to revolutionize fields such as machine learning, drug discovery, and financial modeling, as well as solve problems that are currently beyond the capabilities of classical computers.”

Questions and Answer –“Search on the web” ENABLED:

Output is shown below for 3 results as specified on the left-hand options menu:

Q.what is a quantum computer?

A.Web search results:

[1] “Quantum computing is a rapidly-emerging technology that harnesses the laws of quantum mechanics to solve problems too complex for classical computers. Today, IBM Quantum makes real quantum hardware — a tool scientists only began to imagine three decades ago — available to hundreds of thousands of developers. …”

[2] “A quantum computer can still perform all computations a classical computer can in theory, meaning it is strictly computationally superior to classical computers. Quantum computers rely on three unique phenomena for such an advantage: superposition, entanglement, and interference.”

[3] “Quantum computing. IBM Q System One (2019), the first circuit-based commercial quantum computer. Quantum computing is a type of computation whose operations can harness the phenomena of quantum mechanics, such as superposition, interference, and entanglement. Devices that perform quantum computations are known as quantum computers.”

Instructions: Using the provided web search results, write a comprehensive reply to the given prompt. Make sure to cite results using [[number](URL)] notation after the reference. If the provided search results refer to multiple subjects with the same name, write separate answers for each subject.

ChatGPT Assistant:

The ChatGPT Chrome extension allows you to use ChatGPT everywhere, providing a range of features to make it easy to access ChatGPT from your browser. With this extension, you can automatically search ChatGPT using Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, or Brave, and use code syntax highlighting to make it easier to read. ChatGPT is available as a popup or a standalone page, and you can right-click to send selected text to ChatGPT as a prompt.

You can also use ChatGPT from the browser’s omnibox and reuse previously submitted prompts. The extension also allows you to configure how the assistant sends prompts, giving you more control over your ChatGPT interactions.

This extension can be found at: ChatGPT Assistant

See screenshot below where you have ChatGPT’s response in the bottom right-hand corner:

Summarize:

Summarize is an AI-powered extension that uses OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology to instantly summarize articles and text within your browser. With just one click, you can get the main ideas of any page without leaving the page. Whether you are reading news, articles, blogs, or research reports, Summarize has you covered. The summarization technology is trained to provide comprehensive and high-quality summaries that are both fast and easy to understand, and it is continually improved with thousands of human-written summaries to ensure accuracy and reliability. With Summarize, you can quickly get through all your open tabs, stay up to date with everything you want to read, and never miss out on the key ideas again.

You can find this extension at: Summarize Extension

To use Summarize, highlight the text you want to summarize and click on the Summarize extension icon and Summarize will display a pop-up window with the summarized text.

Hope you find these helpful. Let me know how you use these extensions as I would be interested to know how useful you find them.
