What is “Scholar Activism”?
Sara Goldrick-Rab

Enjoyed reading this very much. I have more recently “ventured out” to write for Slate and the Atlantic as I repeat time on the tenure track (was previously tenured elsewhere). The response to those pieces was very interesting…they will not “count” but I wouldn’t trade what they have done for my research, my learning, my new connections and new thoughts. Really a wonderful way to create new bonds and engage in important debates….@raisecain on Twitter is a scholar activist who I have been on panels with…her work is quite provocative. I joined her for a panel at SxSW and for a special issue of Visual Communication Quarterly. Wonder what your class thinks of activists like Magda (@raisecain) who are pushing back on “accepted” academic forms.
