Hey Spidey!

(Going to try to make this a weekly thing)

Spider-Man: Homecoming was great. Welcome to the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) Mr. Parker. Who’d of thought Marvel having creative control would of been the icing on the cake. Marvel is the machine that knows no bounds. Who’d of thought that Marvel/Sony could of made a deal where not only does he get integrated into the MCU but also his own movie THAT fast? And it actually be a quality film. MAKE. MINE. MARVEL.

The cast is absolutely top notch. Holland is the Peter Parker we’ve been waiting for. Tobey, you’ll always be the best. Garfield, it wasn’t your fault, you were great. Holland just brings a certain innocence to the character that works. Placing him firmly in High school and not a senior or freshman in college adds a great dynamic against the “adults” of Stark and the rest of the Avengers. The father/son dynamic in the film places great especially without retreading the origin again.

The story of Homecoming is definitely steeped in MCU lore but nothing too hard to follow from the casual fan. Marvel fans and Spidey fans will love this movie. It adds different characters to the MCU that we thought were off limits and it adds layers to Spidey’s personality of trying to fit in and live up to the title bestowed on him.

Can’t wait to see you again web-head.
