Albemarle County is a Wonderful Place to Visit
Albemarle is an awesome & treasured county. There’s serenity throughout it. The city of Charlottesville took center stage and it has plenty of the sites and sounds.
Albemarle County is so rich with colorful land, down-home people, ingenuity, and history. There are a lot of places that the tourists can go to learn about the county and have some good times in it.
The Beginnings of Albemarle
Albemarle started out forming within Goochland County & Hanover County. People began migrating to Albemarle at a medium pace. So much greatness occurred in the year 1727.
George Hoomes and Nicholas Meriwether got a sufficient amount of acres set up right near the Chestnut Mountains and the South Anne River.
The Progression of 1729 and 1730
Dr. George Nicholas came in next & set up some land that’s close to the James River and Warren Village. Allen Howard did his parts and so did Thomas Carr. Charles Hudson, John Carter, Francis Eppes, & Christopher Clark developed the land which accommodated more people comfortably.
Albemarle Got Established
More of the land was developed through the years & Albemarle County firmly planted in the year 1745. The Commonwealth does things for that county and others in Virginia often.
The second Earl of Albemarle was William Aane Keppel so they did decide to name Albemarle County after him. HA-HA!!! He was a governor general who made some good decisions.
Some judges were revealed to the public afterwards to help keep some order. There were a lot of roads being built back then so that the earthlings can get to the various destinations without many obstacles.
Albemarle is known for being able to produce a whole lot of the fruit too. The apples from Albemarle Pippins are fantastic.
Some of the Special Land
The Rugged Mountains are legendary and they stand out. The formation of them vary so they became unique. The mountain that’s called Pasture Fence sets itself apart also and blue grass grows in a closed-off area of it.
The Brown’s Cove, Pigeon Top, High Top, & Fox’s mountain are terrific too. So the tourists will appreciate what they see from those & the other spots of the Blue Ridge.
The Albemarle Charlottesville-Historical Society Rocks
Albemarle Charlottesville-Historical Society is a location where the visitors can learn even more about Albemarle County. They will get to take tours to see several things from the past that will inform them.
Their events educate & entertain so the tourists can loosen up some. They have programs & showings that amazes quite often. The Historical Society Library is one to visit for a wealth of information and relaxation.
They have displayed A Sunny Southerner: The Life and Writings of Julia Magruder, the Historical Farms of Albemarle County, Virginia Ladies in History, and Rip’s 1940s.
Other ones are Queen Charlotte, The Great War: The War to End All Wars, Vestiges and Veterans, Frances Brand Collection, & Spirit Walk Photogragh Archive.
Charlottesville was named after the so tough Queen Sophia Charlotte. The Albemarle Charlottesville-Historical Society opens up at 9:00 AM and they close their doors at 5:00 PM.

The Frontier Museum is another option for history and fun. Plenty of people from England came to the state of Virginia to live beginning in the 1600s.

The Thomas Jefferson Monticello
The Thomas Jefferson Monticello residence is a World Heritage location and no other house can claim that honor. Thomas Jefferson left a lot of goodness behind that still benefit others in the present time.
He accomplished goals and his gardening skills inspired other gardeners. He lead America strongly and wrote well. The tourists can wander through the gardens of that property and witness the colorful plants.
Extensive research can be conducted at the Jefferson Library with connections to other choices. The Monticello shop have the interesting items for the home. The choices range from furniture, different decorations for all rooms, seeds, and planters.
