Toyota AI Ventures is Hiring: Apply for the Role of Fund Accountant

Founded in 2017 and based in Silicon Valley, Toyota AI Ventures is a venture capital subsidiary of the Toyota Research Institute (TRI). We invest in early-stage startups from around the world in the areas of artificial intelligence, autonomy, mobility, robotics, data, and cloud. We also seek solutions for smart cities of the future.

Fund Accountant (Los Altos, CA)

The role of Fund Accountant reports to the Senior Finance Manager, and duties include maintaining the funds’ general ledger and assisting with the management of the firm’s funds. You will also act as liaison between TAIV and TRI Finance, auditors, tax agents, regulators, and legal counsel.

You will need at least two years of work experience in a similar position, and ideally, you are the type to thrive in fast-moving environments. You should have a strong understanding of GAAP and fair value accounting, along with solid foundational accounting skills in terms of booking journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and closing the books. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a similar field is a prerequisite. Familiarity with the venture capital or private equity world is a significant plus, as is SQL experience. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills are all highly desirable.
