Then why does Bitcore (BTX) have a price and trade volume? It was distributed in a similar manner as Bitcoin Cash will be but is only really supported by one pitiful exchange.

I think you may be greatly underestimating just how well Bitcoin Cash may do because it will have immediate network effects and a small value proposition just like Bitcore does.

And, if anything, I think we will see the ICO model take some retreat and the airdrop model gain in prominence after successes like BTX, STR and GBYTE because of the immediate network effects which take hold by distributing the premine in such a way.

The major risk with Bitcoin Cash is the wallet software one is supposed to rely on. This is where BTX, STR and GBYTE have a more honest distribution method since you sign messages with your private keys instead of importing your private keys or seed into who knows what wallet software. But maybe what is needed for greater cryptocurrency education and respect for security is for tens of thousands of people to lose a few hundred million dollars of value of Bitcoin.

This is going to be a fun experiment to watch unfold!
