Technology and innovation should give us greater access to knowledge, news, opinions, and communities online that can inform, enlighten and empower us to lead a more compassionate and responsible life. And it does if we can resist self-promoting social media posts, attention-grabbing headlines and fluff articles playing to the “Traffic trumps ethics” beat. Let’s hope the Trump phenomenon is short-lived and profit is toppled as the dictator.
