Prohibited Items Guidelines
Tradeversity is committed to creating a safer, easier, and more enjoyable experience for both buyers and sellers in our community. Although most items can be sold on Tradeversity some are not allowed for sale. Illegal items and most items subject to regulatory restrictions may not be posted. In some cases Tradeversity has decided to disallow certain legal items that we feel aren’t appropriate for our community. This includes items that could be considered offensive or that may pose health and safety issues to others.
Tradeversity reserves the right to remove any post that violates our posting rules, including those that we deem as inappropriate for our marketplace.

Alcohol, Drugs & Tobacco
Alcohol, Drugs, Tobacco, and related products aren’t allowed on Tradeversity. These items are often subject to regulatory restrictions and in some cases are illegal for sale. To comply with local laws and regulations and to help protect the safety of other Tradeversity members, the following examples are items not allowed on Tradeversity:
Alcohol
Prescription Drugs
Illegal drugs, narcotics or controlled substances (even if legal in certain states)
Items marketed for the purpose of getting high
Drug paraphernalia including bongs, vaporizers, pipes, and mods
Tobacco or smoking related products including e-cigarettes, e-juice, vaporizers, hookahs and hookah accessories
Adult & Mature Content
Items intended for adult use or that contain explicit sexual content aren’t allowed on Tradeversity. Tradeversity strives to be an open marketplace, but understands not all people wish to see these types of items. The following are examples of items not allowed on Tradeversity:
Explicit sexual content or nudity
Pornography
Sexual Services and/or favors ;)
Sex toys
Animals & Animal Products
Certain animal products are highly regulated, and the breeding and sale of live animals can result in risk of harm to animals. In order to protect the welfare of endangered, live, or companion animals and to comply with laws and regulations, the following examples are not allowed on Tradeversity:
Pets or live animals
Animal products derived from endangered or threatened species
Counterfeit or Replica Items
The sale of bootlegs, counterfeits, fakes, and unauthorized or pirated copies is illegal and not allowed on Tradeversity. To prevent buyers from receiving counterfeit goods and to help protect rights holders from copyright or trademark infringement, the following examples are not allowed on Tradeversity:
Counterfeit, fakes, or replicas of brand-name items, including items “inspired” by a brand without permission of the owner
Bootleg or unauthorized recordings
Pirated copies of any copyrighted materials
Trademark infringement. For example, users can’t suggest or imply an affiliation with a brand, such as using a brand trademark in their username or profile photo
Dangerous Items
Items that pose health and safety concerns, or that are regulated or illegal aren’t allowed on Tradeversity. These include, but are not limited to:
Weapons, Replica & Toy Guns: Items classed as or primarily used as a weapon aren’t allowed on Tradeversity. We also disallow certain replica or toy guns that can shoot a projectile. We realize items such as these are not classed as weapons, but in the interest of safety we have decided not to allow these goods on Tradeversity. Examples of items not allowed on Tradeversity include:
Firearms
Knives, if primarily used as weapons or self defense. Note: cutlery, kitchen and utility knives are generally permitted
Mace, pepper spray, bear spray, tasers and other weapons used to subdue
Paintball guns, BB Guns, guns shooting blanks, Airsoft Guns and their ammunition and accessories
Sporting weapons such as bows and arrows, crossbows, and archery items
Swords, if sharpened or functional. Note: decorative blunt swords are generally permitted
Weapon parts and accessories including ammunition and accessories, bullets, clips, arrows, bolts and all firearms accessories
Hazardous Materials
Chemicals
Fireworks
Explosives
Recalled Items
Items subject to recall
Items deemed to pose significant health or safety risks to others
Illegal Items or Encouraging Illegal Activity
Any item that is illegal, or that encourages illegal activity, isn’t allowed on Tradeversity. This includes, but isn’t limited to:
Sexual services
Stolen goods or found goods
Items received through Government Assistance
Fake or forged documents (such as licenses, IDs, diplomas or government issued documents)
Offers to trade for illegal goods
Medical & Healthcare Items
To protect the safety of other Tradeversity members and to comply with the law, certain medical and healthcare items are not allowed for sale on Tradeversity. These include but are not limited to:
Devices, drugs or medications that require a prescription from a licensed medical practitioner (such as a dentist, doctor, optometrist, or veterinarian)
Pills, vitamins and supplements
Contact lenses
Used cosmetics
Used makeup sponges or applicators
Un-Paid Advertisements Any advertisement that is solicited without paying proper advertising fees is forbidden and will result in an immediate Account ban.
Any promotion of a business/third party that is not part of the university community, and therefore does not have an active university email address
Links to or information about flea markets or garage sales
Multi-level marketing schemes and related promotional items
Job postings
Lost pet ads
Car dealerships may not advertise financing options as this is a service. Note:Individual cars may be listed for sale

Offensive Materials
Tradeversity is an inclusive community which welcomes users from all backgrounds. To build a safer and respectful marketplace, posts that contain foul language, promote hatred, violence or discrimination aren’t allowed. This includes posts that support hate or discrimination towards others based on age, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, disability, or sexual orientation, or items that promote or glorify organizations with such views. Examples include, but are not limited to:
Posts containing racial slurs
Posts promoting intolerance or discrimination
Items that promote, support, or commemorate groups with views of hatred or intolerance (for example Nazi, Neo-Nazi, or KKK groups)
Items that depict or glorify violence against people or animals
