Absolutely, Tomas! We tried to pick our battles in this post, but you absolutely cannot discount the value of learning a language beyond communication. It’s been proven to improve executive functions, increase empathy, and even stave off dementia, among other cognitive and cultural benefits. The ability to multi-task, pick up on social cues and body language, and empathize with diverse people is critical in many fields (even seemingly “non-international” fields like nursing). Learning a language, even if not to a professional level, will certainly benefit anyone who could make use of those skills. Thanks for pointing that out and adding even more fuel to the fire for FL!
