Europe Edition

Europe is one of the most fascinating places in the world. It has a rich history and a very diverse geography. You can always find something new and interesting whether it’s historical sites or beautiful landscapes — I hope you enjoy my list of 5 exciting destinations!

1. Vis Island — Croatia

Vis is an island in Croatia and also a municipality, known for its rich history and culture. The main town on the island is also called Vis, which lies in the northwest.

Vis is famous for being one of the first places in Europe where people lived when they first migrated from Africa.

2. The Danube Delta — Romania

The Danube Delta is a popular destination in Romania and it’s easy to see why. The delta is one of the largest marshes in Europe and home to over 600 species of birds, making it a great place for bird watchers who can spot many different types of waterfowl. The area also boasts some beautiful scenery, including riverside towns, forested hills and riverside beaches.

3. Oia (Santorin) — Greece

Oia is a village situated on the island of Santorini in Greece. Due to its spectacular natural views and calm atmosphere, it has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Greece.

Oia is known for its spectacular sunsets and whitewashed buildings, as well as the windmills that dot the village. It has become a popular tourist destination since it was featured in several movies — including “Mamma Mia!” (2008) and “The Blue Lagoon” (1980). The village is filled with shops selling everything from jewelry to souvenirs.

4. Lake Bled, Slovenia

Lake Bled is located in the Julian Alps and is close to the Sava Bohinjka River in Slovenia. It’s known for its island with an ancient church and an 17th-century castle.

The lake itself is surrounded by mountains on all sides, making it look like an oasis. The surroundings are absolutely stunning but they’re not what makes Lake Bled so special — it’s the views from above that do that.

You can hike up to 2,560 feet above sea level (that’s nearly three football fields) to get some of the best views of this beautiful little town. You’ll see everything: lush green valleys and forests, tiny mountain towns, expansive meadows and even Mt Triglav, which at 2864m 9396 feet is one of Europe’s highest peaks! You might also see some local wildlife — the area around Lake Bled has plenty of bears roaming around!

5. Lake Como, Italy

Lake Como is a small, but beautiful lake in northern Italy. Lake Como has been a popular tourist destination since the 15th century and is known for its scenic beauty and the many villas built along its shoreline. For example, Villa d’Este is an exquisite castle built in 1568 on the lake’s southwestern shoreline. It features stunning gardens with fountains and statues brought from Rome by Cardinal Ippolito II d’Este to impress visitors to his estate. Lake Como is also a great place to go boating, swimming and fishing. The lake has a reputation for being cold, but it’s not too bad once you get used to it!
