Tribal Worldwide London launch Spark React Labs.

There were rumblings around the agency this month that something exciting was coming, maybe even happening. Well, that something is the launch of a Spark Practice initiative named React Labs.

Whilst the benefits of embracing technology are well known, many businesses fail to understand the importance of different types of technologies. Knowing how to experiment with technology can help change a brands product, perception and internal culture.

At Tribal Worldwide London, we work on digital transformation with brands from all over the globe. And whilst we understand the importance of getting the basics right, we believe that shouldn’t stop us from looking to the future and planning how new technologies can help evolve a product, service or brand experience.

“As adults, we often think that play is something best left behind in childhood.Yet there are fewer more potent ways of learning than play; it helps us see new connections, understand the relationships between things and explore the world beyond the everyday.

React is a brilliant way of playing with new technology, new ideas and new opportunities for brands to be a part of people’s lives; and for businesses to create new models of revenue.” Darren Savage, Chief Strategy Officer at Tribal Worldwide London.

What is Spark React labs?

Spark’s React Labs is an opportunity for Tribal, and our clients, to quickly examine new pieces of technology and platform updates. Over the course of a month, we task a cross-discipline team to think creatively about new technologies and existing industries, and to come up with innovative ideas that solve real life business problems. The result will be a useable prototype ready for A/B testing, either online, as a piece of hardware, or as an updated product offering.

Who will take part?

Ideas can come from anywhere, so, each lab will be different. People from all over the agency, in every department, will be able to participate. Every month, we’ll ask department leads for nominations of who they think deserves to take part.

How does it work?

Working in sprints, a team of developers, designers, creatives and UXers, will work on a strategic brief matching a business problem with either a new technology or one that’s soon to be released. They’ll concept and prototype an innovative idea that answers the brief.
