Gender in the Military?

I recently read an article about women in the Air Force. Apparently they are opening up “4,099 Jobs in 6 different career fields” to women in the Air Force, but will not allow the women to go onto the battlefield. WOW! Air Force, GREAT JOB! (Please recognize my sarcasm) This is like giving the women of the U.S. what they want, without giving them what they want.

Of course! It’s all about gender right? I have noticed, most of the 6 different career fields include the normativity of women gender roles. They mostly, rescue those who are were injured on the battle field. This shows that even the military still believe that women aren’t capable of getting their hands dirty by actually doing the hardest job of all. They are only good enough to help the people who are hurt during the process. Allow the women to step outside the comfort zone of gender roles. Allow them to actually fight for our country, that’s the reason why most of them have enlisted right?
