I bought a house at 22 and the only parental help I had was living with my mom for 1 year after college. My parents didn’t help me with student loans, but I did have a lucrative part time in college, the earnings from which I was able to save by living on the loans in college and then use for a down payment. That said, my first house cost $80k because the market was at its lowest in 2o11 and it was a pretty crappy house. And I’m going to be paying off those student loans forever.
