Two-months’ extensive discussion and intensive R&D among TRON community have led to another major upgrade of the TRON protocol. On Oct 8, we released an update on Odyssey v3.6.5, which by far has been deployed and run smoothly on all 27 SRs in the TRON ecosystem and over 30 mainstream exchange nodes, thousands of nodes have also completed version updates.

During the development process of Odyssey v3.6.5, the voice of the community was widely heard and community developers from all over the world also provided us with a lot of support, successively modeling and implementing a number of incentive mechanism, in order to achieve a reasonable incentive mechanism, and through a number of rigorous tests and optimization on the test network, to ensure the zero loss of block production in the process of node upgrading. We have completed a great upgrade, expecting the application of TRON network to be more extensive and TRON ecology to be more prosperous.

What’s significant about the upgrade is that TRON network’s incentive mechanism has reached fully decentralization. This reform secures voters’ rewards through the supervision of the TRON network, as the rewards data can be accessed and traced by everyone. This new incentive mechanism will attract more users to join Staking by offering substantial returns to users who participate in building TRON blockchain, boosting the TRON ecosystem as a whole.

Moreover, the upgrade includes the proposal of enabling TVM to support Solidity compiler V0.5.9, signaling another ground-breaking innovation for TRON TVM besides its full compatibility with Ethereum virtual machine. This improvement provides DAPP developers with a more powerful and practical instruction set, and will further diversify the use cases for DAPP.

Next up we are making TIP 53-related proposals and we look forward to a consensus reached on the proposals among all SRs sooner than later.
