It’s time to think outside of the box and visit the city our grandparent’s dreamed about. It’s steeped in musical history and features memorable locales including Beale Street and Graceland. Memphis is afforadable, fun and truly unique. Located on the banks of the mighty Mississippi River, this city is worth a trip. Here’s why:
Memphis is home to the Grizzles, arguably the NBA’s grittiest team. After all, the team’s mantra is “Grit, Grind, Grizz.” Games in the FedEx Forum are always entertaining. The Forum also frequently hosts big-time concerts. (Ariana Grande and Foo Fighters upcoming)

Music plays a defining role in Memphis’s history. Spend a night on Beale street listening to music and soaking in the city.
Memphis has world famous BBQ and hosts the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest each May. Visit Central BBQ, Rendezvous or The Commisary in nearby Germantown.
Memphis is home to the St. Louis Cardinals’ AAA team, the Redbirds. Quite possibly the nicest AAA stadium, Autozone Park is a great place to watch America’s Pastime.
If you’re not fully convinced yet, Memphis is now home to the mecca of the outdoor sporting world, a gigantic Bass Pro Shops located in a Pyramid (it’s also a hotel).
