America’s Greatest Threat?
The results on Iran, China, Russia and North Korea are in.

On the anonymous opinion app, Aop, the following question was posed to 1,103 Americans; Which of these countries is the greatest threat to America? The options were the following foreign powers with this overall vote breakdown:
#1 North Korea 38%
#2 Russia 22%
#3 Iran 21%
#4 China 19%
What is perhaps more interesting is the breakdowns in political affiliation, which seem to of had a serious effect on how people view these countries.
- Republicans rate Iran as the greatest threat with 35%, even over North Korea at 33%.
- Democrats place North Korea at the top with 48%, and Independents do the same at 38%.
- The Russia question is fascinating: 33% of Democrats, 25% of Independents, and 13% of Republicans believe the country run by Vladimir Putin to be the greatest threat to America.
- Of any political group, Independents rate China with the highest percentage, 23%.

What about the different age groups? Surprisingly, each generation had quite a different take.
- Millennials overwhelmingly view North Korea as our top threat.
- Generation X narrowly selects China as the leading threat.
- Baby Boomers chose North Korea at a very high rate, while also placing a number of votes on Iran.
The last demographic we’ll look at is region.
- The Northeast placed Russia as the greatest threat to America — a shocking 54%! The next highest on Russia was the Midwest at just 23%.
- In all other regions, (South, Midwest, Pacific, Frontier) North Korea was viewed as the largest concern.
