TrueCred has moved far beyond simply displaying “pretty picture badges”. Our digitally-signed, tamper-proof credentials comprised of rich metadata are the basis for allowing the credential to also function as social currency. So we agree, the ability to sign the badges is one of the main necessities for creating verifiable credentials. This is, in fact, one of our driving principles, and we are working with the CTI and IMS Global to establish standards for issuing credentials to allow the badges and credentials to be accepted on all credentialing platforms.
