I know I’m not alone and I’m happy that there are people out there trying to drag their reluctant comperes along and to move an agenda of basic human decency forward. That however does not mitigate the facts on the ground in a significant way.
The efforts of the few haven’t yet prevented a death or the ritual thuggification of a victim. Moreover, *the few* are all too often not where I (we) are being brutalized. We’ll know that we’ve reached a critical mass when brutality is roundly rejected by *the many*. We aren’t there yet. And THAT is why our wells of empathy are running dry.
