Tales of the Soul Crushing Generic Texts
I’m the kind of guy who hates texting, I force myself to text, but I always want to meet people face to face
Well, a lot of time, I’m dealing with something I call “Soul crushing generic Text”. This is when someone, “a friend”, send a group text, and you’re just lucky to be a part of it. This has to STOP.
E.g : “Hey, Happy New Year, I hope you the best for this year, be blessed”.
Shut Up !
This is why, this new year’s eve, i’m doing something special. From the 28th, to the 31st at around 6pm, I’ll send text. But not your everyday text, this is a text specially thought about the person Isend it to. If you’re not a part of it, it can means 1 of those 4 things : You change your number, I lost your number, I just don’t know you, or the worst, I straight up don’t like you, but Ikeep you on the side as “a friend”. If you don’t respond, i will not care, I made a good deed.
Why do I do it ?
Because it texts became so overrated. Every christmas, every birthday and every other ***tty events we do, we receive the SSGT; it’s like, your friend have the obligation to send it to you. No, you don’t have to wish me “happy birthday” if you see my name on your Facebook wall, “I’m ok without you in my life, wait, why are you even here?”. It’s the same feeling when I get a new text, and I think it’s from someone, but when I look at it, it’s just a bot doing promos for a store I went. This is just sad.
And, the second reason : I’m very bored, and people in general are bored. So I don’t want to get bored even more.
“I just want to be funny, man”
From 10 to 30 texts a day, this will give me an occasion to get in touch with people i forgot, or just to get people to smile or have a good laughter. A text is like a mini-gift, it means someone think of you, and people adore to be in someone else mind. I will not lie to you, I like it too. But when you’re in that group text (or chain mails), it means that people are not thoughtful, or don’t know who you really are.
This is why, I repeat, this has to STOP. If you know you are a part of a chain, or a group text, just respond by “Hmm ok.” or don’t respond at all, you don’t need that. And please, don’t send it at 23:59PM or 00:01AM, people are celebrating the new year with families and friends. You don’t want your party to look like that :
If you send them text, this means they are not with you, and if they are not with you, that means you guys are not that close. So STOP, just enjoy your night, you’ll see people another day.
As of right now, I’m left with around 80 texts to go (more or less). I just want to test the experiment, to see how it goes (unexpected funny text, this should be good).
