I’m here I swear!
In body and in spirit.
It’ been six weeks.
Six weeks since Rails Engineering began at The Iron Yard.
The amount of information we have covered and I have learned is incredible. So much. So fast.
If you asked me to explain the enormity of what is The Iron Yard to six weeks ago Tucker I’d laugh. As I am.
Week six was the first week where our projects clicked.
I had the opportunity to present my code to the class the other day! Well, I was volunteered by fellow classmates.
Others have done this already, and that’s great. The reason I place so much weight on this is it was the first time I could actually explain what I was doing.
Not just fumbling around errors with crossed fingers and then - poof something worked!
This was different. I knew exactly what piece of code went where and WHY it went where it did. I understood the flow of my functions and how the controllers commanded my database. It was fantastic. And still is.
There is so much to learn, though this past week has shown light at the end of a very dark tunnel.
This is my life.
“There is no intensity of love or feeling that does not involve the risk of crippling hurt. It is a duty to take this risk, to love and feel without defense or reserve.”
