I appreciate the article. I thought it was an interesting perspective.

“You often rap about Marcy projects and you talk about that building you could have bought in DUMBO, but have you and Mrs. Carter renovated the hood?”

I think even if they did renovate the hood that it wouldn’t fix the underlying issue that people need to be taught how to generate wealth. I think the concept of ‘owning’ is something he is trying to push in this album which is the concept that some cultures don’t grow up learning the importance of owning which is why our communities are being bought up and resold for millions. But I still think teaching how to generate wealth combined with the concept of ‘owning’ is something that is needed in the black community.
