Medium seems to be a ridiculously simple forum to publish. Simple, clean, not too many starting problems such as choosing themes upfront and at the end of it all, perfect for those tiny notes that you want to store at a moments’ notice. The font is formal enough to convey a tone of seriousness and is now widely recognizable as the Medium font(the lack of font uniformity was probably many other blog forums’ undoing eventually.) Ahh those days of livejournal and blogspots and more recently WordPress. I would have personally loved to have privacy options for my posts though — that doesn’t seem to be there, or I’m probably missing that somewhere.
