That is covered by the main notion of this research, and sharing yourself with others — in the way that I understand it best — can’t work if you don’t know yourself to begin with, I agree. But there’s no reason not to learn about yourself precisely by sharing.
I believe that that is one of the most precious facets of friendship, the open door allowing you to evolve and learn about yourself, the other, and the world. Otherwise, what you have is something stagnant.
However, I think it would be nice if you would read my post before assuming I have an agenda. Social science relies on being able to quantify (among other things) human emotion, and the job it does ain’t too shabby.
