Hey there, racing fans! Ever heard of a 12-year dream coming true? Well, get ready to dive into the awesome journey of Oscar Piastri, the young Aussie sensation in his Formula One debut with the legendary McLaren F1 Team in 2023. Get ready to gear up, because this is packed with drama, just like “The Drive to Survive”!

The Dream Begins:

Picture this — a kid from the sunny Melbourne suburb of Brighton, dreaming big while growing up in the land Down Under. That kid was none other than Oscar Piastri.

Fast forward to 2019, and he’s scoring big in the Formula Renault Eurocup, bagging seven wins and showing the world he means business.

Pandemic? No Problem

Now, let’s talk 2020. Ah, the year of the unexpected — thanks, pandemic! But guess what? Oscar wasn’t letting anything stop him. He burst onto the scene in the FIA Formula 3 championship, making jaws drop by winning his very first F3 race. Rookie debut? Nailed it.

Dual Championship Triumph, Anyone?

Hold onto your helmets, folks. Oscar not only won hearts but also achieved dual championship victories.

Formula 2? Check ✅

All in his debut seasons. This kind of magic has only been pulled off by Formula One superstars like Charles Leclerc

Nail-Biting Showdowns

Imagine a racing battleground where nine different drivers are vying for the crown. That was the FIA F3 championship for you. Oscar held his ground, staying in the top two spots throughout the nail-biting races. It all came down to an Italy showdown, where he clinched the championship by a hair’s breadth — just three points!

Taking FIA F2 by Storm

Fast forward to 2021, and Oscar’s stepping up to the FIA Formula 2 grid. New format? No problem. He won his second F2 race, making it clear he’s not here to mess around. Podiums? Yeah, he collected those like trophies in a game.

Dominating the Tracks

Piastri’s star moment? Definitely Silverstone, where he nailed pole position and went on to grab his first feature race win in Monza. That victory was like a green light for his winning spree — he snagged every pole and conquered every feature race that followed.

From Academy to F1 Testing

Graduating from the Alpine Academy (formerly Renault Sport Academy), Oscar got his hands on F1 cars. He tested the Renault RS18 F1 car in 2021 and even aced the F1 Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi with the Alpine A521. Talk about making an impression!

Playing the Waiting Game

No F1 seat for Oscar in 2022 due to rules. But did he kick back? Nah. He stepped in as the Alpine F1 Team’s reserve driver and hit the test track like a pro, keeping those skills sharp and ready.

The Unexpected Twist

Just when things seemed like they were following the usual playbook, bam! A plot twist came out of nowhere and shook things up big time. So, picture this: August comes in, and Alonso decides to hop onto the Aston Martin train, leaving a seat open in the Alpine. Cue the dramatic music, because this is where the real action kicks in.

Alpine’s like, “Alright, let’s make a bet on Oscar to fill that seat!” And just like that, the whole show turns into an adrenaline-fueled roller coaster. Fans are on the edge of their seats, insiders are buzzing — it’s a whirlwind of excitement that hits you like a double espresso.

But hold up! Oscar’s not reading from the same script. Nope, he’s got his own ideas, and they’re pretty darn bold. He steps into the spotlight and does the unexpected — he publicly says, “Thanks but no thanks!” to Alpine’s seat offer. Mic drop, anyone?

The motorsport world was left speechless. It’s like watching a crazy plot twist in your favorite TV series. You know, the one that leaves you staring at the screen, going, “Did that really just happen?” Oscar’s move was audacious, gutsy, and totally out of left field, and the whole racing community is like, “What just hit us?”

Against all odds, Oscar found himself in a sweet spot after the whirlwind of events. He sealed the deal, this time officially and unmistakably, with none other than McLaren. Yep, that’s right — he was teaming up with the likes of Lando Norris.

Time to Shine

And now, the big moment is here. Oscar Piastri, the young gun who’s been blazing a trail, is all set to hit the Formula One grid in 2023 with McLaren. Get ready to witness history in the making as this Aussie dynamo takes on the FIA Formula One World Championship in Bahrain. The track’s about to get a whole lot hotter!

Piastri’s Thrilling Battle: Rivalry with Ocon and Gasly

For 5 races, Piastri, Gasly and Ocon were closely matched, gap never over 4 points until Miami. Post-Miami, Ocon got the lead from Gasly, scoring 23 points. While Piastri struggled, securing only 1 point.

With McLaren’s upgrade for the British GP, Piastri gained 22 points and 2nd place at the Belgian Sprint, witch made him ahead of Gasly . Ocon added just 4 points. For a while the battle looked to be Piastri and Gasly, but now, it’s more between Piastri and Ocon with 1 point gap.

The stands are Ocon in 10th, Piastri in 11th and Gasly in 12th. Let’s see what happens after the summer break.

From Aussie kid with a dream to F1 prodigy, Oscar Piastri’s journey has been a rollercoaster of passion, grit, boldness, and pure talent. As he revs up for his Formula One debut, one thing’s for sure — this is just the beginning of a chapter that’s bound to be written in the stars of racing history. Stay tuned, race fans — the Oscar Piastri show is about to begin!
