The Most Important Book I Read This Summer
Mark Suster

Hi Mark. I would love to see “Between the World and Me” by Ta-Nehisi Coates required reading by all police workers in the US, if not the world. I feel that Ta-Nehisi allows me to step into the shoes of a black man and fully experience what it is to be black and treated as a lesser, and usually guilty person. Who wouldn’t be enraged? The book is beautifully written; he doesn’t make strident, bone-headed generalizations. He sticks closely to his own experience which is intensely moving and eye-opening. I am a white woman and to my shame, I think I have been a “clueless white woman” for a long time. This book opened my eyes and my heart. Spread the world.
