Yes they asked for participation… “Hey guys, we are going to kill puppies. We would love your input on our plan to kill puppies. No we are not interested in plans that do not involve killing puppies. Fine then don’t participate in our plan you freaking obstructionist.” I expect they did beg for Republican “participation” ie ….accept our proposal since we won the election and have the house and senate in super majority. I bet President Obama, Mr. “Republicans need to go the the back of the bus”, was very inclusive and open to a plan that could get broad support. They force fed the program and the result of that was a 100% democrat dog turd of a law that Republicans now have the challenge of cleaning up.

Can you recall any major legislation that received 0% votes by the other party? Heck they BARELY got enough votes from Democrats while holding a super majority. They needed to offer exemptions and other concessions (aka bribes) just to get their own party to pass this terrible law. Yes, Democrats were clearly heavily invested in securing a plan that suited the views of about half of the country. Unfortunately when you force something down the throats of people they tend to want to spit it out. Spitting is messy business.
