These days, we can see a lot of men working and stepping up their shaving game. While it may seem like a skill that everyone has, there are still those who are struggling with the task. Shaving is considered as a part of hygiene and grooming. This is the reason why every boy turning into a man should know at least the basics on how to do it right. When you shave your face, you have to make sure that you do it properly or you might end up looking unpleasant and feeling sore. Those who want to have a clean or close shave, know that it can be done. You just have to find the proper source of knowledge and tools to use.

To help you get the close shave that you have always wanted, here is a list of guidelines to follow.

· The best time to shave is after taking a hot or warm shower.

This opens up the pores and softens the hair making it easier for you to get a closer shave. This is ideal for those who cannot achieve a smooth and close shave as the hair will be able to be lifted and softened after this.

· Exfoliating and cleansing will be a good start.

Since the face often has dead cells and bacteria in it, you have to make sure that you remove all of it first before shaving. You can go for a moisturizing facial wash to do the cleansing then follow with a scrub to remove bacteria and dirt. If you happen to have sensitive skin, make sure to find one that will match and be compatible with your skin type.

· Those who have thick and over grown facial hair can opt to use a pre-shave oil to soften the hair and help the razor maneuver all over the skin. Or, you can go for a shaving cream instead.

The purpose of shaving cream is to protect your skin from razor burns and to minimize the occurrence of cuts. This also makes it easier for you to shave smoothly over your face. o You can use a brush to spread the shaving cream evenly on your face. Plus, you can also use this to comb and lift the hair for better access and better shaving positions.

· Always work with a sharp, quality razor.

This is critical as using a blunt blade will not give you good results. It may also lead to ingrown hair which does not look good. Plus, using a sharp one will save you all the time and effort. Achieving a close shave is possible. You just have to learn about the basics and find the right tools to work with. Shaving products make it easier for you to achieve it. Just keep on testing and finding out which one is good for your skin type. Once you come up with these, you can easily incorporate them to your daily routine. You will realize and enjoy the benefits of having a smooth shave after.
