I think you’ve hit the nail on the head here perfectly in saying we all have a personal level of ‘elite’, and what it takes to achieve.

Having made it to the games via a somewhat unconventional route, I had different challenges on building an ‘olympic level’ mindset, how to maintain it, and finally to decide on whether it was worth the cost to pursue such a career to its ultimate conclusion. What a ride it was!

We all have to weigh up the risks and costs that come with such decisions. Sometimes, the toughest call is to push on. Other times, it is to have the strength to let it go. The one of the chief lessons for me, was to not let regret linger anywhere, particularly with a decision to move on. Very few things can be so corrosive. Learn from everything. It’s so powerful and can inspire that work needed to try achieve your next level of elite.
