Yes, that’s exactly what it means.
Structural racism born in the white ancestry that prevails today aids in the limiting of black rights and privileges. Like housing discrimination, workplace discrimination, income inequality, social programs restrictions. There’s a reason black neighborhoods are not as integrated because they were barred by legal and illegal practices from moving into middle class neighborhoods, higher paying jobs and businesses like certain insurance companies, and credit opportunities. Yes priviliege and lack there of is inherited.
Please accept that having white ancestry affords you privilege. Like not being in slavery and building legacy wealth to give your children. You know how many white families have histories and legacies of old businesses in most industries, well we don’t have that because we were slaves during America’s formative years. Black wealth building in the 18th and 19th centuries were not really all the rage. When they did build wealth if was often stolen and destroyed by white counterparts and competitors.
And darker blacks with white ancestors is not the same thing. Stop conflating familial lineage with ancestry. First brown people are descriminated again more by color than anything, there’s a reasons why “passing” was a thing in the 19'th and 20th century by blacks. I have white ancestry but when I’m in Novi, MI in a sea of white, I am black, no matter my history, my black ancestry to whites, taints my “purity” and therefore I am one of them. And black children born of mixed race were often children of rape and those that weren’t are black to white America unless they can pass.
