American Heart, Huck Finn, and the Trap of White Supremacy
Justina Ireland

I was going to give this book the benefit of the doubt, but it sounds almost like a parody of a bad YA novel. Readers of YA are not that stupid, but there are so many authors who write their characters and their plots based on their perceptions of what they think YA readers are like. And inevitably they think YA readers are not very bright.
