  1. How did the Chevening fellowship help you in enhancing your contacts and connections?

The Chevening fellowship was very useful in helping me establish new contacts. For example I initiated the partnership between the CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre), a National Crime Agency Command (UK) and Rotary International to conduct awareness programme on ‘Protection of children from online sexual exploitation’, in local, regional as well as international forums.

I have also co-authored a book: “Cyber Crimes — Technology Menace of the 21st Century” with Dr Deepak Shikarpur. My law firm, VP Shintre & Associates won the award from Data Security Council of India (DSCI) — NASSCOM in year 2016 for “Spreading Cyber Security awareness amongst masses”.

2. Could you describe your experience of the Chevening programme

The participative learning methods, learning by discovery and the reflective portfolios were particularly challenging and exciting. The exposure to a wide range of research material and books through the libraries were also an enriching experience plus the sprawling and serene Cranfield University Campus is just unforgettable.

3. What was it like visiting and studying in the UK ?

I found the UK, especially London to be a melting pot for people from different origins and cultures but blending together so beautifully. The UK is very friendly, and embraces its student population by offering various indoor and outdoor activities, networking opportunities, projects and thus making it a comfortable space for a foreign student. I wish I could go back as a student again!
