If you look at what Quentin Tarrantino did with Pulp Fiction, Christopher Nolan did with Memento, the play ‘X’, Constellations by Nick Payne, Beckett’s Waiting for Godot or Endgame and The Time Traveller’s Wife by Audrey Niffeneger (the book not the film) those are some examples that spring to mind of authors who have looked at conventional structure and just said ‘nah’.
