According to the 2019 production results, Uralelectromed SA (UMMC’s metallurgical complex company, chaired by Iskander Makhmudov) produced 413,346 tonnes of cathode copper in 2019, which represents 103.2% compared to 2018. This is the first time that the company has achieved such results since the start of its activity.

According to Uralelektromed’s Technical Director Alexey Korolev, such a high-performance indicator is explained by a stable supply of raw materials, well-functioning teamwork, as well as the use of modern, high-performance equipment installed in the new copper smelter, which was built in accordance with the latest technological solutions in the field of electrolytic copper refining, while the industrial processes have been mechanized and automated to the maximum extent.

Currently, the company continues to rebuild its copper refinery — this is the third construction phase of the copper smelter. The new site will house a circulation system consisting of 224 electrolysis baths…
