The Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company presented its final project of the Ice Palace, which will be built on the site of the old demolished television tower in Yekaterinburg, on April 1, 2019.
This is happening within the context of the upcoming 2023 Universiade event.
In addition, UMMC is also preparing the project to develop the area around the arena. This new project is set to cover almost 30 hectares, on which the company plans to develop the promenade alongside the river, extend the quay, build a bridge over Narodnoy Voli Street, rebuild the streets and build a public car park for 800 cars.
UMMC-Holding has already invested nearly 1 billion rubles in this project, while the Ekaterinburg region plans to invest around 300 million rubles. The future arena will be able to accommodate 15,000 spectators.
