As the United Nations marks 75 years of helping people everywhere, this year’s General Assembly session will be unlike any other.

Although most of us will not be gathering at the UN’s New York Headquarters this year, this General Assembly — coming at a time of urgent global challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic — is perhaps more important than ever before.

Here are some ways you can use your voice on social media to be part of this historic UNGA and show your support for peace, human rights and the Sustainable Development Goals.

GA Hall 360 Experience: Explore the General Assembly Hall! This 360-video will allow you to travel through history to check out some of the most memorable moments that have played out on one of the world’s most recognizable political stages. Begin your virtual journey on the @UnitedNations Facebook page, starting Sunday 20 September at 6pm EST.

“We The Peoples” Instagram and Facebook filter: Take the podium and share your vision for the future! This augmented reality tool allows you to share your ideas and solutions for a better tomorrow with friends, family and others on Instagram and Facebook.

“Global Goals Wheel” Instagram and Facebook Filter: Show off how you’re supporting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the world’s blueprint for a more sustainable and prosperous future. Through this fun and interactive Instagram Stories face filter, you can share what actions you’re taking in your everyday life to protect our planet and all its people.

Instagram Stickers: Look out for new Global Goals stickers on Instagram Stories to add some color and fun to your pictures or videos, all while showing support for the Sustainable Development Goals.

Be part of the UNGA conversation!

No matter where you are or what social platform you’re using, join this year’s UNGA conversation by using: #UNGA.
